The Clarity Framework

It all starts with Clarity. This framework has been tested with eCommerce stores, service-based businesses, non-profits, and more. It has proven to be one of the most effective ways to avoid analysis paralysis while continuing to make steps towards revenue-generating activities.

93% of businesses leaders lack clarity on what to work on and on what timeline.‍ Enter the rapid changes of the last few years and the anxiety for leaders is off the charts. And if leaders aren’t locked on targets, employees are even less, and customers… well, they don’t know what they are buying - and confused buyers, don’t buy. ‍

Over the last decade, we’ve talked to 100’s of companies who wrestle with this issue, the number one need is greater clarity, but you’re too close - you need an outside perspective.‍

We’ve developed a robust diagnostic and process that helps combats fuzzy thinking.

Phase 1 || Strategy

Align the team's strategy and the rest of the project will fall into place. That's why the first phase of the Clarity Framework is making sure that everyone on the team is focused on the same goal and success metrics. The Strategy Phase starts with a whiteboarding session that covers everything from brain dumping dreams to sifting through and prioritizing the most important aspects. At the end, the team will be in alignment which mitigates unexpected issues down the road.

Phase 2 || Blueprint

Not everyone on the team will be able to conceptualize the how to achieve the goal. That's why architecting a clear and concrete plan is so important to keep the team aligned. By blueprinting low-res wireframes and plans, we can focus on evaluating content and strategy rather than design styles or visual biases. If the team is not aligned in the concrete action steps, then pivoting is much easier at this phase.

Phase 3 || Implement

Now that the team is aligned on content and strategy, the next step is to design and build. Visual preferences may come into play here, but at the end of the day, the whole team is aligned on how to achieve goals and what is being communicated to customers. Most teams start here, but making big pivots at this stage can be extremely costly or cause partners to claim "scope creep". Because your team has been aligned at the previous two stages, the only thing to agree on is are the visuals aligned with the current brand?

Phase 4 || Optimize

No matter how much research or preparation has occurred, there is no such thing as a perfect plan. Every audience will react with nuanced actions and there will need to be adjustments made. By adding the Optimize Phase, we can ship progress over perfection but still leave room to improve the plan and achieve our success metrics and goals. This often looks like A/B testing visuals, messaging, or even offers. The beauty of the Clarity Framework is that it is cyclical in nature and there is always room for improvement.

The first phase of The Clarity Framework is aligning the entire team on an end goal and success metrics. By making sure that everyone is on the same page, we can keep any project from taking unexpected turns while still allowing visionaries to voice dreams and hopes. The Strategy Phase starts with a whiteboard session that covers a "brain dump" of information to sifting through the most important aspects of the project.
